In August 2007 I opted out of the Residential School Settlement for three main reasons:
(1) The settlement for 7 years in residential school and losing my family, community, culture and language was $31,000.00 and no compensation for my children.
(2) The process survivors were subjected to in order to get the settlement could be defined as tortorous
(3) Children of survivor's who died before 2005 were exempt from the settlement.
